You can’t have summer without sweat unfortunately, they come as a package. The bad part is the build up of sweat can cause a bad body odour. Using deodorant alone can’t help you stop the smell of Body Odour in 30•c plus heat over the summer months even with all the promises these companies make. Here are a few tips to help you reduce bad body odour as much as possible and leave you feeling confident!
Shaving your armpits
Simply put, hair can obsorb and spread bacteria which creates body odour so it important to keep your armpits hair free throughout the year especially during the summer time.
This is a trick that my mum showed me during my teenage years. Take a lemon, cut in half and rub in your underarms and leave in for about 5 minutes. Do this before you take a shower in the morning and at night. It reduces the PH levels in your underams making it hard for bacteria to grow therefore stopping (reducing) body odour. You can also add baking powder, here is a recipe:
- Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of water and squeeze half a lemon in a bowl.
- Mix until you have a thick paste
- Apply to your underarms and let it dry on its own and wash off in the shower.
Water, water and more water
Drink lots of water to flush out and detox your system. What we eat comes out through our pores so try to stay away from things that have a strong smell e.g Garlic
